The Lamb family arrived on the shores of Texas in 1875 and several years later opened a printing shop on the sidewalk in the heart of downtown Beaumont. They helped start and print the Beaumont Enterprise, the local newspaper still in print today, and officially opened Lamb’s Printing Company in 1895. Through five generations and much hard work, Lamb's helped many businesses and individuals with their printing and office furniture and supply needs.

Thomas K Lamb, Jr, the last president of the family business, preserved a full set of printing and type set machines in hopes of finding a place to display and educate future generations about a dying trade. He received support from Lamar University Foundation to open a “print shop” in the Gladys City Boomtown Museum, a museum operated by the university celebrating the oil discoveries of the early 20th century that put Beaumont on the map, with the understanding that the family would search for the funds to build the museum. This working museum will serve as an educational tool for students of all ages.

This web site is dedicated to help the Lamb Family raise the funds necessary to build the Lamb's Printing Exhibit at the Gladys City Boomtown Museum. Thank you for your visit, and please consider how you might be able to support this very special endeavor, either through participating in one of the supporting events, or donating to the project directly using this web site.
